Don Childs wanted the stage to appear as if the characters had taken over the theatre themselves and built their own environment. So everything was made to appear simply built. One interesting aspect to the show was the blue rope swing (near the center platform below). It was designed to be attached to a line-set so one character could actually swing towards the audience. So to allow this and keep all the other line-sets from being hit, we locked off the entire grid. Using standard pipes attached to the line-sets.
